After graduating as a fashiondesigner at AMFI (Amsterdam Fashion Institute) in 2004, Eleonore de Ruuk (1981) pursued her dream. She started her very own fashionlabel under her own name; “Eleonore de Ruuk”. She developed her brand during 10 years into a leisurewear label with a recognizable sportive touch and graphic elements for both men and women.
The label has gotten a lot of international recognition since then. Eleonore showed her collections from Berlin to China. For her work she also received numerous nominations and awards. In 2008 she won the “brand new style award” by ISPO, the world’s biggest sports fair. She even had her own pop-up store in the center of Amsterdam for over a year. In 2010 she decided to go on with a timeless approach. After having her first child, she also expanded her label with timeless items for kids.
After 10 years of hard work and having her second child, she decided to give her kids full attention. From that time on she did commissioned work. Now that her two kids are both going to school, she is working as a freelance fashion designer and text writer for an art website for families with little children. At the moment she’s developing her own art workshops for children. She would also like to start her lifetime dream of writing and illustrating children’s books and keep on doing freelance fashion and graphic design assignments.
